More from Chicago

I say!

Here are some more snaps from Chicago.

The first one shows my residence during my brief stay there. A reasonable hotel, but quite expensive, as they all seem to be in the 'Windy city'. It was not named 'windy' after the wind, however. Does anyone know the real story?

The next one was taken during a 'booze cruize' on the lake. Can anyone from outside the USA name the great lakes, without recourse to a reference source?

The Sears Tower from ground level.

From atop the tower.

And from the same location, looking in the other direction.

MM - saw a marvellous film last night you might have enjoyed - set in Swaziland in the 50s/60s - "Wah Wah". Not recommended for Hollywood fans, as there ARE NO EXPLOSIONS OR CAR CHASES.

Wonderful pictures!
Oh,
Chicago advocates put on a rather long-winded presentation and campaign to win approval during the 1889-1890 bidding for the World's Fair of 1893.

Mingin! Great photies as usual. It's called the windy city due to it being the flatulence capital of the world. Due to the stockyards. My friend Brian Wilson would have felt right at home there! Do you know the name of the famous novel by the famous 19th century American writer about the stockyards, one of the few novels ever to lead directly to a piece of legistlation. Lake Superior, Lake Eyrie and Veronica Lake! That'll be ten pounds please! Hotboy

Dear Hotboy - what do you mean by 'congress'?
