More precipitation

I say!

Still wet here. I hope Christmas was enjoyable for you. We certainly appreciated Doviko's turkey.

Apropos of nothing in particular, except that Mrs M. recently requested a print, here is a snap taken in the 'departure lounge' when we visited the Okavango, some time ago.

My Dear Lee Ann,

Thank you for your lovely comment. Mrs M. will be very pleased that someone appreciates her 'brood'.

That snap was taken a while ago in the Okavango Delta - a truely wonderful part of the world. Expensive location if you are not resident in the country, as there is a considerable Per Diem levy on tourists. Even as residents of Botswana, at the time, we were required to pay something like $10 per day each whilst in the Delta.

Botswana is the 'success story' of Africa, in economic terms. It encourages high return/low impact tourism in the Okavango.

The government there also invests heavily in education, the transportation infrastructure and health.

Good to hear an African success story, possibly the first since Fela Kuti.
