The Deep South

I say!

I finally managed to locate myself - about 7km from Schiphol. Thank goodness for that. A rather unpleasant experience for a while, and I put it down to the hash brownies I bought in town the other night when peckish, which didn't seem to mix well with contents of the mini bar (which has since been restocked). In fact, the mini bar is computer controlled. I did not realise this, and examined each item in turn before reading that removing them from the fridge meant that they had been, in effect, purchased. Well, I dare say they would have been consumed sooner or later.

'Doordepurt', I gather, is local slang for, words to the effect of, 'sacre bleu!'.

I bought each of the charming girls from Reception a large bouquet of flowers to make up for any faux pas which I may have made after the footers.

Now I need to catch up with snaps from my previous location, somewhere in the 'Deep South'. And I must say that the hospitality of everyone in Louisiana was absolutely wonderful.

Local law requires that a casino should be on a boat. But apparently there is no law to say that that boat must be in the water. Most peculiar.

The next snap shows a wonderful location for a repast.

I say! One never knows what will find hanging from ceilings in shops in America. In Chicago I saw an upside down cow, and here is an aeroplane.

The sport of kings.

I say Lee Ann,

Those snaps were taken the week before last, and I must say, it was very warm and humid. Even more so than the wet season in Kalimbuka. The people in Louisiana are very pleasant.

Oh!
Louisiana is a bit more humid than Birmingham, Alabama. They have more water and swampland than we have here in the central part of Alabama.
We do get heat and humidity here, but we are in the mountainous area which is less humid.
I hope you had fun!
